Murrandoo Yanner is an activist and a champion of Indigenous rights. He is a Gangalidda man from Moungibi (Burketown) in the lower Gulf of Carpentaria. He is a Director of the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (CLCAC) and the Gulf Region Aboriginal Corporation (GRAC PBC).

This famous case, sometimes known as the “crocodile case” started with the prosecution of former CLCAC CEO Murrandoo Yanner for the taking and killing of two crocodiles.
